Isro Launched 7th Navigation Satellite Irnss Ig On

India is slated to put into orbit its seventh and final navigation satellite on april 28 thereby having its full satellite navigation system up in the sky said a senior space agency official.

Like all other irnss satellites irnss 1g also has a lift off mass.

The satellite with a life span of 12 years has two payloads for navigation and ranging. Each satellite has a life span of 10 years. Its predecessors irnss 1a 1b 1c 1d 1e and 1f were launched by pslv c22 pslv c24 pslv c26 pslv c27 pslv c31 and pslv c32 in july 2013 april 2014 october 2014 march 2015 january 2016 and march 2016 respectively. In its thirty fifth flight pslv c33 isro s polar satellite launch vehicle successfully launched the 1425 kg irnss 1g the seventh satellite in the indian regional navigation satellite system irnss today afternoon april 28 2016 from satish dhawan space centre shar sriharikota.

The last one was launched on april 28 2016. This is the thirty fourth consecutively successful mission of pslv and the thirteenth in its xl configuration. Starting in july 2013 the indian space agency has launched all the seven navigation satellites.
